ABOUT ERIC BIGHAM FCCA

Mr Bigham is a seasoned C-suite Management Consultant and Qualified Graduate Chartered Certified Accountant. He provides high value Corporate Finance and Finance Strategy consulting and advisory services to CFOs, CEOs, Heads of Strategy. He is Founder and CEO of Bigham Consulting and the Bigham Group which invests and incubates start up technology businesses.

As a Graduate Chartered Accountant Mr Bigham trained with a Top 20 London City based Firm of Auditors, where he was involved with over 100 small and medium enterprises. He left practice to become the CFO for a small but growing International Clothing Manufacturer where he led financing for International Brands such as Dona Karen Lingerie UK, Ireland and France. Sensing the Internet could provide a ticket into the world of Large Corporate Finance in 1999 he became an early employee at the famous pan European Internet Incubator the antfactory, where he worked closely with the Founding Team, many ex Morgan Stanley Investment Bankers and a number of the High Profile Incubatee "tech founders" such as Jane Procter's People News, e-Shipping and others.

The role was indeed a springboard which led to a two year project working for the Founding Team at the Internet Services Division of PCCW (Cable & Wireless / HK Telecom) an organisation owned by Chinese business magnet Richard Li the son of Hong Kongs Sir Ka-shing Li. Mr Bigham was later hired as Senior Manager with Lloyds TSB working as an internal Management Consultant and Finance Business Partner he advised the Business MDs and the Strategic Ventures team and led the business case team for two years. From 2005 to 2009 he worked continuously as a strategy consultant advising the C-suite and Boards of Blue Chip International Companies as a Consultant with Accenture and as Director with an International Strategy Consulting boutique and later as Founder of Bigham Consulting.

Mr Bigham has held a number of Senior Interim C-suite level positions where he worked on a number of high profile international business turnarounds and transformation projects including Head of Group Treasury at VANCO PLC, Head of Large Corporate Banking at RBS and as Head of Infrastructure Strategy at Deutsche Bank Global Markets. As well as helping a broad section of financial services firms he has additionally supported a number of leading Private Equity Funded portfolio company founders securing funding by developing their finance and operating models. Mr Bigham operated his own alternative investment fund AliCat Capital for five years from 2008 to 2012. He currently owns an online marketplace startup called OnMyBubble.com. OnMyBubble.com is a Social Network technology platform for traders, digital entrepreneurs and social media marketers. It is a Free to join platform providing free social media collaboration tools for selling digital and other products or services. It ranks well in google with a global reach, spanning more than 50 countries and 150 cities. Mr Bigham is currently in talks with investors and is seeking to expand the platform to offer digital games and other marketplace services.

In recent times it was the global financial crisis that motivated me to look deeper at the failings of an antiquated banking system operating from within an inadequate regulatory framework. As an ACCA panel member I provide regular input into Global Economic Conditions surveys and UK Business Confidence Reports."

In March 2014, ACCA hosted an event in London which examined the forces that are driving regulatory reform and considered its impact on banking, business and society at large.
Five expert speakers addressed the event. They were Eric Bigham FCCA, strategy consultant with Bigham Consulting; Toby Billingham, programme director, conduct risk, UK retail and business banking at Barclays; John Liver, partner EMEIA financial services Ernst & Young; Simon Morris, partner at law firm CMS Cameron McKenna; and Tim Reucroft, director, investor services, with investor data services provider Thomas Murray
Delegates gather to hear Eric Bigham FCCA and a Panel of Experts talk about Living in the Shadow of Regulation a Morgan McKinley Success Series event. This was a very successful event, Eric Bigham produced a short white paper, published by Morgan McKinley for the attendees of this event, which covered the major regulatory themes addressing the banking sector in the aftermath of the global financial crisis.
Questions are taken by Eric Bigham and a panel of experts on Banking & Capital Markets regulations introduced to improve Financial Stability in the wake of the great financial crisis. The discussion covered a series of regulatory responses the financial crisis including consumer protection, executive pay, bank financial cushions and capital requirements,  expanded regulation of the shadow banking system and derivatives, and enhanced authority for the Federal Reserve to safely wind-down systemically important institutions, as well as the role of the new PRA and FCA as replacements for the FSA.

A plethora of regulatory improvements have been proposed by economists, politicians, journalists, and business leaders to minimise the impact of the Global Financial Crisis to Prevent Recurrence, the panel and audience discussed the merits of proposed solutions many of which have not yet been successfully implemented
